Make a cup of tea, then make someones day

For as long as I can remember my Mum has been waking me up every morning with a cup of tea. I’ve become quite used to hearing my alarm and having a cup of tea arrive at my side, I am aware this makes me sound like a princess but I have never requested it, Mum has always offered.

When I came to Uni I can’t say I was worried about whether I couldn’t cope without my morning cup of tea but I knew I was going to miss it.

For anyone who doesn’t know I live in a house with 4 other beautiful girls in Leamington Spa. The nice thing about living with your best friends is that we all want to make each other happy and every english person knows a cup of tea is a pretty good way of making this happen (or a gin and tonic if it’s after 5pm).

Would you believe it, day 1 of living in my new house in my third year of University, my gorgeous little Frankie appeared at my door with a cup of tea, in my favourite mug, perfectly made.

Now we informally take it in turns to make the morning tea, but it always has and always will make me smile when I see this, especially if it’s been made by someone I love.

So, the moral of the story is, make someone smile, make them a cup of tea and take it to them. If the person you make it for doesn’t smile, then that person needs to get out of your life.

PS. I like mine in the above Hannah mug, tea bag in first, brewed for three minutes, a spoonful of honey and enough milk to make it one shade lighter than just a dash. Frankie or Mum can help you if you need help.
